Rehabilitate your Career: Become a Physical Therapist Assistant
Many physical therapy schools have programs for both physical therapists and physical therapy assistants. About six out of ten physical therapist assistants work in hospitals or physical therapy offices. They perform some components of the physical therapy process to help physical therapists relieve pain, restore muscle function, and improve mobility for patients suffering from injuries or disease.
What Physical Therapy School has to Offer
Although some physical therapy assistants are trained on the job, most typically have associate's degrees from a physical therapy school. Coursework is generally divided into an academic component including algebra, anatomy and physiology, biology, chemistry, and psychology and a hands-on clinical component. |
