This program teaches the necessary skills for applications and treatment goals of muscular and general relaxation, stress reduction, pain management, recovery from injury, health promotion, education, and body awareness. The successful practitioner must, therefore, be proficient at more than a simple massage; he or she must understand the body and its functions, master a variety of techniques, and hone such skills as client assessment, communication, and self-evaluation. Upon completion of this program, students may transfer all earned credits toward the Therapeutic and Clinical Massage associate of applied science degree program.
