The objective of the EMT-Intermediate Program is to train students for Certification as a Georgia Emergency Medical Technician. The course is based on the U.S Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines for EMT intermediate course curriculum, including but not limited to: Preparation and Introduction to Emergency Medical Care, Patient Assessment and Basic Life Support, Medical Behavioral emergencies, obstetrics, gynecology, trauma, (infants and children) and EMS operations.

The objective of the Patient Care Technician Programis to train students to acquire satisfactory skills and demonstrate competence in a variety of Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician procedures and laboratory techniques. The procedures and lab techniques include but are not limited to the Study and Practices of Human Needs and Communications, Infection Control and Safety Measures, Body Mechanics, Vital Signs, Patient Care, Special Care, and Body Systems. The Patient Care Technician Program will place an emphasis on the application of knowledge and Physical Care/Psychosocial skills in a classroom and clinical setting. Included in this program is an externship which provides the student the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a health care setting
